Return, Refunds and Cancellation Policy
This Return, Refund and Cancellation Policy is between Build Africa Company Limited (“we”, “our”, “us”, “Build Africa” and “Company”) and you (“Customer”, “you”), a purchaser of items listed on our online marketplace/ website- www.buildafrica.store (“Website”).
At Build Africa, we aim to ensure your purchase experience is consistently positive. However, we understand that there may be times when you may wish to return items you have purchased. This Returns, Refunds and Cancellation Policy (“The Policy”) outlines the terms and conditions for accepting returns and processing refunds for items bought on the Website. It also delineates the circumstances under which we will not accept returns or provide refunds.
This Policy covers the following:
- Return Policy;
- Refund Policy; and
- Cancellation Requests.
A. RETURN POLICY
You can initiate a return or exchange of any item purchased on the Website in accordance with this Policy. You may return or exchange any item within a period not later than 24 hours from the date of delivery. Please note that we do not accept returns of any items, for any reason whatsoever, after expiration of the return period. Any item intended for return must be in a condition suitable for resale. This means that the item must be unused and in the same condition you received it, in its original packaging, with all seals, tags, labels and accessories intact, where applicable.
Items not eligible for return include:
- Items previously designated as “non-returnable”;
- Items that are repackaged by you;
- Items altered in any shape or form by you;
- Items that have been used by you;
- Items damaged after delivery to you.
You will be required to initiate a return on the Website, prior to physically returning the relevant products. Once we receive your return request, we will endeavour to process same as soon as soon as possible. Accordingly, we offer a one day period to send back any item that meets the requirements for return. Where we are unable to process your request within the prescribed number of days, we will be happy to extend the return period, and this will be communicated to you. Note that this Return Policy contains distinct terms and conditions for different items which are as follows:

Damaged Items
We will accept a return or exchange of damaged items where:
- the items were damaged in transit by us;
- the content and quality of the items are clearly different from what was ordered;
- the items were defective upon delivery; or
- the items were damaged from the manufacturers.

Items Erroneously Ordered and Delivered
- Items erroneously ordered and delivered may be returned provided that the Customer notifies us of the error within
- (Twenty-Four) hours of the receipt of the delivery of the order and we confirm receipt of such request to return.
- You will be responsible for the cost of return of items erroneously ordered and delivered in a good condition.
- You will also forfeit the delivery fee paid for delivering the items to you.

Return and Exchange of Civil Items
A request for the return and exchange of civil items may be approved, where:
- the items are damaged at or during delivery;
- a wrong item is delivered, or the items delivered do not meet the specifications or are materially different from what was ordered; or
- defective items are delivered.

Return and Exchange of Electrical Items
A request for the return and exchange of electrical items may be approved where:
- the items are damaged at or during delivery;
- a wrong item is delivered, or the items delivered do not meet the specification and/or grade ordered; or
- defective items are delivered.

Return and Exchange of Mechanical Items
A request for the return and exchange of mechanical items may be approved where:
- the items are damaged at or during delivery;
- a wrong item is delivered, or the items delivered do not meet the specifications or are materially different from what was ordered; or
- defective Items are delivered.

Disapproved Return/Forfeiture

We reserve the right to disapprove return requests if same do not meet our return policy or if the return is not initiated within the allowed timeframe. If we do not approve your return request, we will notify you of this fact, and you will not be entitled to:
- return the products; and
- receive a refund.
- Where we do not approve your return request, and you attempt to return the product(s), we will hold the products for ___ days, and a failure to collect the item within the stipulated period will result in forfeiture of the product(s). It will then become the property of Build Africa, and we reserve the right to dispose of it in a manner deemed appropriate, such as through sale, charitable donation, recycling, or destruction.

B. REFUND POLICY
Refunds
- The refund process begins after we have completed the evaluation of your returned item. Accordingly, refunds will only be possible in respect of approved returned items.
- Once your refund claim is validated, we will proceed with the refund, and endeavour to process the refund within five business days of completing our evaluation.
- Please note that your refund will be processed directly into the bank account which has been provided by you in furtherance of the refund, and may take up to two business days before you receive same.
C. CANCELLATION POLICY
Cancellation Requests
- Cancellation requests may be sent to us by the designated feature on the Website within 24 hours of placing an order with us and prior to delivery of your order. You shall receive a full refund of payment made in the original form of payment provided that the items have not been shipped to you. Where the items have been shipped, then the provisions of the Return policy will apply.
- Where a cancellation request is received after 24 hours of purchase, the cancellation may still be processed, but you will be required to forfeit the delivery fee paid by you, irrespective of whether the item has been shipped to you or not.
